ADRIAN J. LAM

UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL OF INTERNAL | HE/HIM

Adrian is studying political science and biochemistry at the University of Toronto. Their journey in Model United Nations began with a fascination for diplomacy and global affairs, which led then to participate in and now help organize events like UTMUN. This summer, they'll be focusing on logistics for UTMUN and working on exciting projects with the University of Toronto STEM Research Initiative (UTSRI), which they co-founded to connect students with research opportunities. A recent accomplishment they are proud of is co-chairing Trinity's Winter Ball at the AGO. For the 2025-2026 school year, they are eager to engage in meaningful discussions and projects that bridge academia and real-world issues.

daisy zhao

UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL OF academics | she/her

Daisy has been involved with Model UN for the past six years, with UTMUN being one of her first conference experiences. From the very beginning, Model UN captivated her. GA and ECOSOC committees introduced her to global issues in ways she had never considered, equipping her with research, writing, and public speaking skills that continue to shape her today. Meanwhile, specialized and crisis committees became portals to worlds where creativity knew no bounds, an experience she hopes to share with delegates at UTMUN. Outside of MUN, you can find Daisy at the Hart House gym or exploring UTM, where she’s spending the summer as a research assistant. An avid web novel and manga enthusiast, she hopes to make her way through her ever-growing, multi-tabbed reading list/spreadsheet, go on a road trip to Quebec City, and try making every TikTok food trend, starting with the Dubai chocolate strawberry cup.

PRANAV CHATURVEDI

UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL OF FINANCE | he/hIM

Pranav is a third-year at UofT, studying Economics, Data Analytics, and Politics, and will be serving as this year’s USG Finance – with six years of Model UN experience under his belt, across both the U.S. and Canada, and having served as a General Assemblies Moderator and Branch Director through UTMUN in the past. UTMUN’s academics branch will forever hold a special place in his heart due to how much he’s been able to grow professionally and socially because of the organization – but he couldn’t be more excited to take on UTMUN’s exquisite financial portfolio. In his spare time you’ll find him rewatching his childhood classic TV show, Drake and Josh, yapping with his friends, with tea and biscuits – or making a trek to the Canada-US border solely for the purpose of paying Trader Joes a visit. He’s stoked for another goated UTMUN conference on the horizon – #Onelove$MUNeylove.

EQUITY TEAM

Iva is going into her fourth year at the University of Toronto, where she studies Political Science and Ethics, Society, and Law. She first got involved with UTMUN because she enjoyed debating and global affairs, and ended up staying because of the people and the space it gave her to think and grow. Outside of MUN, she works as a youth advisor with the Office of Senator Marilou McPhedran and has been involved in research through the Munk School’s Global Governance program. She’s currently interning at a civil litigation-focused law firm while preparing for law school. This year, she’s excited to return as Director of Equity and to help make this year’s conference more accessible and fun.

He is always up for a conversation about politics, history, or what the next cabinet shuffle might look like! As one of this year’s ECOSOC Branch Directors, he looks forward to working with the amazing staff at UTMUN 2026 to deliver a dynamic and memorable conference experience.

CHRISTOPHER RHEE

CO BRANCH DIRECTOR OF ECOSOC & REGIONAL BODIES | HE/HIM

Ivy’s journey with Model United Nations began in 2020. From there, she was instantly captivated by the amazing experiences, and the interesting opportunities it provided. Since then, she joined her high school’s MUN club, participating in UTMUN and SSICSIM as a delegate before helping staff the past year. In her spare time, she enjoys reading new books, watching films, and playing chess.

This year, she’s excited to help bring the Specialized Agencies Branch to life and see all the creativity from both delegates and staff alike.

IVY CHEN

CO BRANCH DIRECTOR OF SPECIALIZED AGENCIES | SHE/HER

Renzo discovered the world of MUN in 2019. After attending many GAs and Spec committees, he was introduced to crisis by one of his friends, where he found his true passion for MUN. Ever since, he has been in love with building crisis arcs and complex private directives.

At UofT, Renzo is studying Industrial Engineering with a double minor in Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Manufacturing, and a Business Certificate. He is currently an intern at the Medical Operations Research Lab and aspires to be a Machine Learning/AI expert after graduating.

Outside of MUN and School, he enjoys watching movies, collecting Rubik's cubes, and doing origami. He is incredibly excited about the crisis committees this year and looks forward to working with the Crisis Staff in the backroom.

Renzo Ignacio Ugarte Basurco

CO BRANCH DIRECTOR OF CRISIS COMMITTEES | HE/HIM

This year, Isabella is proud to be your Co-Chief of Staff. Since starting UTMUN four years ago as a CA, she’s been interested and passionate about our community, dedicated to making a welcoming and warm space for all staff members in the future. Whenever she isn’t working on hiring materials or planning socials, she’s playing with her dog, reading, hanging out with friends, or collecting thrift store artwork. In the fall, she’ll be starting her fifth year of studying political science, Latin American Studies, & philosophy. She looks forward to another year of good food, good vibes, and creative props.

ISABELLA PERDIGON

CO CHIEF OF STAFF | SHE/HER

Agata decided to start her MUN journey in first year since she didn’t get a chance to do it in high school. She began as a moderator at NAMUN 2023, and after staffing many NAMUN and SSICSIM conferences, she’s finally making her UTMUN debut this year as Co-Director of General Assemblies, and she couldn’t be more excited. She’s studying Criminology and European Affairs with the goal of going to law school, which is why she’s spending the summer with her nose in LSAT books. When she’s not studying, Agata loves hanging out with friends or watching documentaries to hyperfixate on. She can’t wait to bring her committees to life in the next few months and is so excited for all the fun to unfold at the conference!

AGATA CAPOMASI

CO BRANCH DIRECTOR OF GENERAL ASSEMBLIES | SHE/HER

Rick began volunteering for UTMUN three years ago, and he is serving as the Co-director of ECOSOC & Regional Bodies for UTMUN 2026. Model UN first captivated Rick when he was in secondary school because of the opportunity to conduct historical research, which led him to develop a fascination with topics relating to social and economic development. Rick's favorite historical era is the Renaissance and early modern period, and he is working as a student intern for Arrive Ready over the summer. Aside from UTMUN, Rick can be found watching historical films like Barry Lyndon (1975), experimenting with new ways to cook food, and exercising in the form of weightlifting and swimming.

RICK DONG

CO BRANCH DIRECTOR OF ECOSOC & REGIONAL BODIES | HE/HIM

Sukaina is a second-year student at the University of Toronto, specializing in International Development Studies with a minor in Political Science. This year, she's thrilled to be serving as your Co-Director of Specialized Agencies for UTMUN 2026. With a strong passion for global affairs, she first discovered Model UN in high school when she attended UTMUN as her very first conference—and she’s been hooked ever since! Outside of MUN, Sukaina’s a documentary nerd with a Letterboxd full of documentaries and a habit of falling down internet rabbit holes. She also works part-time teaching kids and somehow manages to balance it all with a two-hour commute to campus (which she swears builds character). Having come full circle, she looks forward to making UTMUN 2026 just as unforgettable for others as it was for her!

SUKAINA SYED

CO BRANCH DIRECTOR OF SPECIALIZED AGENCIES | SHE/HER

David Moon is a third year student at UofT in Rotman Commerce. Currently involved or planning to be involved in at least five, though maybe six or seven, clubs, he has an extensive list of interests and hobbies which includes a love of history, something he is minoring in. This love of history was also what first got him into MUN in high school, something he rediscovered in high school at Clubs Fair in his first year. Now having staffed six conferences, and with plans to staff six more in his remaining two years in university, he is looking forward to guiding the crisis branch at UTMUN, a part of MUN that always participated and staffed in without fail. All in all, he is looking forward to the academic year as a chance to reconnect with friends and make new ones.

DAVID MOON

CO BRANCH DIRECTOR OF CRISIS COMMITTEES | HE/HIM

Wajid is going into his first year of masters at Munk School of Global Affairs. He was previously Secretary General of CAPMUN at uOttawa and has been involved in MUN as a delegate and behind the scenes for seven years prior due to his interest in international relations and strong belief in its ability to develop leadership. He is currently working on the international team at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and seeks to continue with his career in international security. In his free time, he likes to travel, read, hike, go to the gym, and listen the latest historical podcast.

WAJID ZAMAN

CO CHIEF OF STAFF | HE/HIM

OPERATIONS BRANCH

Chanithi is a fourth-year studying Ethics, Society & Law, Political Science, and Classical Studies. She began her MUN journey as a Crisis Analyst in her second year, and has been drawn back ever since by the chaos, passion, and contagious energy of the MUN community. This year, she’s thrilled to be serving as your Chargé d’Affaires. When she’s not tackling registration spreadsheets or interning at a law firm, you’ll likely find her binge-watching her latest TV obsession or getting lost in vintage shops and weekend markets around the city. She's looking forward to seeing UTMUN come alive through the passion and energy of its delegates and staff alike.

Chanithi Bandaranayake

CO CHARGEÉ D’AFFAIRES | SHE/HER

Amelia is a third-year political science and public policy student. She started Model UN in Grade 9 after overhearing commotion every Friday afterschool in a classroom, and has been participating ever since in various roles— including as a delegate, director, and secretariat member (she directed UNOOSA at UTMUN 2024)! Outside of MUN, she has conducted research on defence technology with a think tank, and currently works as a Research Assistant for the Department of Political Science. She’s excited to meet the delegates at UTMUN 2026!

AMELIA HUI

DIRECTOR OF DESIGN & BRANDING | SHE/HER

Dhwani started off her Model UN journey not so long ago, courtesy to her friends (Keerat). After being part of UTMUN, she found it to be one of the best decisions she made - giving her the most amazing experiences and friends. Normally, you’ll find Dhwani in one of the three places: in front of her desktop troubleshooting why deleting comments crashes her code, escaping assignments with a workout at the gym, at a dance studio, or 'working' in a cafe which turns into a 4 hour long conversation. Thanks to UofT’s location, her love for boba is thoroughly satisfied. While she is rooting for the tech job industry to regain its strength by the end of her degree, as the Director of Community Relations this year, she is excited to elevate UTMUN’s experience for everyone involved!!

DHWANI JAIN

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY RELATIONS | SHE/HER

Kobe is a second-year studying Human Geography and Urban Studies. His fascination with MUN began in Grade 10 as a delegate, and has since joined conferences in Cambridge and Singapore. He enjoys how MUN connects students on debating diplomatic and social issues, enacting their rights to raise their placard on behalf of their delegations. Intimidated by aggressive delegates and overwhelmingly complicated working papers, Kobe realizes his enthusiasm lies in the administrative and logistics aspects of MUN, besides watching exciting debates between delegates, and is thrilled to work with Vincent this year.

Kobe is obsessed with reading RateMyProfessors reviews of his lecturers, refreshing his email inbox far too frequently and checking ridiculous tribunal cases while sitting in lectures. Outside campus, he loves citywalking across the GTA and is looking for his next walking adventure.

KOBE LIANG

CO DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS | HE/HIM

Gourav is a 2nd-year student at Rotman Commerce student (who has surprisingly passed first year) specializing in Accounting with a minor in Economics. Though you’ll usually find him procrastinating on his work, spending entirely too much money on coffee, or rewatching The Office for the 16th (okay, maybe 21st) time. During exam season, his sleep schedule doesn’t exist, and his diet consists of caffeine, Netflix binges and vibes. Outside the academic grind, he’s a big fan of F1 and has fully convinced himself that Ferrari will win... eventually... one day... please.

GOURAV GUPTA

CO CHARGÉ D’AFFAIRES | HE/Him

Sophia is a third-year Political Science specialist at the University of Toronto with a deep interest in global justice, peacebuilding, and international cooperation. Her longstanding curiosity about global governance led her to MUN, where she now leads UTMUN 2026’s communications strategy. She’s excited to craft content that makes the conference feel vibrant, welcoming, and unforgettable. Outside of UTMUN, she enjoys visiting art museums and spends her free time watching films to explore new perspectives and stories.

SOPHIA KANG

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS | SHE/HER

Emaan is almost always on the lookout for adventure. These days, you'll most likely find her checking out five books at a time from TPL, considering buying another dreamcatcher, wandering around Toronto Music gardens or planning the earliest possible time she can get back on a rollercoaster at Canada's Wonderland. Her latest adventures include fleshing out the details of UTMUN's delegate social, working on another novel and putting random songs on loop for days on end. Somewhere between presenting at research conferences, doing hundreds of pages' worth of readings and too much karaoke, first year at UofT strengthened her resolve to pursue a (perpetually relevant) IR/PCJ double major. She hopes to see you all at UTMUN and get into spontaneous debates on-spot.

Emaan Aqil Abbasi

DIRECTOR OF DELEGATE EXPERIENCE | SHE/HER

Vincent is an incoming first-year Engineering Science student who joined Model UN in Grade 10 to build his diplomatic and leadership skills. He later became part of the UTMUN secretariat to support delegates in their MUN journeys. Passionate about the unique, engaging experience MUN offers, he's eager to help build that for UTMUN 2026 attendees. Vincent recently graduated as his school’s top student and looks forward to the intellectual challenges awaiting him at the University of Toronto. He is committed to academic excellence and values opportunities that foster meaningful debate, collaboration, and global awareness. Despite his academic achievements, Vincent spends most of his time playing video games and board games.
